Update: Figured the mounting system out, turns out the answer is always in the internet.

Brakes!
I know everybody thought Muni couldn't be cooler, but then I got a set of Magura pneumatic brakes from the bike kitchen. I need a slightly better mounting scheme for the lever, but they work like a charm.
Why yes, that is a piece of a handlebar. Thanks for noticing. See that the brakes really work below.

As if grabbing the seat between your legs doesn't look funny enough on a uni. Now you get to fondle a brake lever too.
