Brakes!

I know everybody thought Muni couldn't be cooler, but then I got a set of Magura pneumatic brakes from the bike kitchen. I need a slightly better mounting scheme for the lever, but they work like a charm.

Why yes, that is a piece of a handlebar. Thanks for noticing. See that the brakes really work below.

Update: Figured the mounting system out, turns out the answer is always in the internet.

MSU M Hiking Trail

Success! Failure! My ass hurts! Our trail rally up the M was a triumph. We walked most of the medium steep trail up the M, turns out Muniing is about hiking up and riding down, then we rode down putting our trials skills to the test on some slippery and uneven rock.

I took a huge spill on a rocky ride across and sliced up my elbow and bruised my ass something serious. We both had some success on the rocks and lots of fun riding the wider dirt sections (switchback turning is challenging).

Welcome Sam

We've got a real follower! Out to a trail someplace today, pictures later.

Town Session #2 (Bozeman)

So Joe got his new toy last night and we had to try it out, so here's the action from today. The toy by the way is a 24in Kris Holm Muni, neither of us has seen a more solid muni.

Leverich Canyon

A long couple hours in the canyon today, maybe even the first uni decent. Adam and I talked Seth into doing this canyon on his third uni day! Seth completely exceeded expectations, rolling much of the trail including some steep hills.

Lessons:

  • Food!
  • Water!
  • Don't throw the uni.

Yes, that little thing way down the slope is Seth catching up to a runaway uni. Click for larger shot.

Seth getting some air, next time we are going to work on bringing the unicycle along.

Town Session #1 (Bozeman)

Bit of trouble today, I bent a crank on the Sun dropping off an electrical box, pics to come.

Other accomplishments include Adam's ride of a 15 stair, mine of a seven, and dropping a picnic table.
